Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 May 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Visa Venture collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit visa-venture.co.th, contact us about a visa application, or engage our services for a Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) or Long-Term Resident Visa (LTR). Visa applications involve sensitive personal data — passports, financial records, employment information, and sometimes health and police records — and we treat that responsibility seriously.
We have written this policy to be specific rather than vague. If anything is unclear, contact us using the details at the end of this page.

The personal data we collect
Visa applications require detailed personal information. We collect only what is needed to prepare and submit your application accurately, and only with your knowledge.
Contact information. Your full name, email address, phone number (including WhatsApp), country of residence, and nationality.
Identification documents. Scanned copies of your passport (all pages, including pages with Thai immigration stamps) and passport-size photographs.
Financial information. Bank statements (typically three to twelve months of history depending on your visa category), bank balance certificates, and proof of income including income tax returns, pension certificates, dividend statements, royalty statements, rental income evidence, and salary statements.
Employment information. Employment contracts, employer letters confirming your role and any remote-work permission, curriculum vitae, professional qualifications, and academic certificates.
Family information (if you are applying with dependents). Spouse passport copies, child passport copies, marriage certificates, and birth certificates.
Investment evidence (for LTR Wealthy Global Citizen and LTR Wealthy Pensioner reduced-pathway applicants). Title deeds, sale and purchase agreements, lease agreements, company shareholder documents, Thai Government Bond certificates, and direct investment documentation.
Health and insurance information. Health insurance certificates meeting LTR requirements, Thai Social Security membership evidence, alternative bank deposit evidence, and where relevant, medical treatment plans and hospital appointment confirmations (DTV Medical Treatment sub-category only).
Background information. Police certificates or criminal record checks from your country of nationality or Thai police certificates.
Immigration history. Prior visa stamps, entry and exit records, Thailand Digital Arrival Card records, TM.6 cards, and TM.47 forms for prior 90-day reports.
Some of this data is treated as sensitive personal information under Thai law (the Personal Data Protection Act) and the General Data Protection Regulation. We collect sensitive data only with your explicit consent and only when it is necessary for your visa application.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we and our service providers collect certain information automatically through your device and browser. This is separate from the application information you provide directly.
Usage information. Pages you view on the site, links you click, the time and duration of your visit, and the content you interact with.
Device information. Browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution, language settings, and similar technical identifiers.
Network information. Your IP address (which indicates approximate geographic location), internet service provider, and connection type. We use IP-derived location at the country level to inform tailoring of content and to comply with jurisdiction-specific consent requirements — for example, displaying a cookie consent banner to visitors in the European Economic Area.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to support site functionality, to remember your cookie preferences, and — with your consent where required — to analyse how visitors use the site. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Where you are in a jurisdiction that requires consent for non-essential automatic collection (such as the European Economic Area), analytics and similar non-essential collection happens only after you have given consent through our cookie banner.
How we collect your data
Directly from you. Most of the data we hold comes from you — through forms on our website, messages on WhatsApp, email, document uploads, or during consultations.
From third parties acting on your behalf. With your knowledge, we may receive documents from police certificate authorities, banks issuing balance certificates, employers issuing confirmation letters, hospitals issuing treatment plan letters, and the Thai Board of Investment issuing Qualification Endorsement Letters.
We do not buy personal data from data brokers. We do not collect personal data about you from sources you have not authorised.
Why we use your data
We use your personal data for the following purposes, on the legal bases shown.
To prepare and submit your visa application. This includes document review, application form completion, embassy submission coordination, Board of Investment submission coordination for LTR applications, and applicant support throughout the application process. Legal basis: performance of the service contract between you and Visa Venture.
To communicate with you. WhatsApp, email, and phone contact about your application, requests for additional documents, and updates on application status. Legal basis: performance of the service contract and our legitimate interest in delivering the service.
To verify your identity. Required by Thai law and by embassy or BOI submission protocols. Legal basis: legal obligation.
To send you marketing communications — for example, regulatory update newsletters about DTV and LTR changes. We send marketing only if you have separately opted in. Legal basis: your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
To improve our website. We use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site. For visitors in the European Union and other consent-required jurisdictions, this happens only with your consent given through our cookie banner. Legal basis: your consent (in those jurisdictions) or our legitimate interest (elsewhere).
To comply with legal and tax obligations. Thai accounting, tax, and anti-fraud requirements oblige us to retain certain records. Legal basis: legal obligation.
Who we share your data with
We share your personal data only as needed to deliver your visa application and operate our business. The recipients fall into the following groups.
Thai government authorities. Your application data and supporting documents are shared with the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate handling your application (varies by application — for example Vientiane, Phnom Penh, Tokyo, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Moscow), the Thai Board of Investment for LTR applications, the Thailand Investment and Expat Service Center for LTR fast-track services, and Thai Immigration authorities for extensions and reporting. These disclosures are a necessary part of submitting a visa application.

We require all service providers to keep your data confidential and to use it only for the purposes we instruct.
Legal and accounting partners. When required, we may share data with our accountant or legal counsel under professional confidentiality obligations.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train artificial intelligence systems.
International transfers of your data
Visa Venture is based in Thailand. Visa applications by their nature involve cross-border movement of personal data.
Data sent to us. If you contact us from outside Thailand, your personal data is transferred to Thailand for processing.
Data sent to embassies. If your application is submitted at a Royal Thai Embassy outside Thailand (for example, a German applicant applying through Vientiane), your data is transferred from Thailand to the country where the embassy is located.
For European Economic Area and United Kingdom residents. Thailand does not currently have an adequacy decision from the European Commission or the United Kingdom. Transfers of personal data from the EEA or UK to Visa Venture are made on the basis of your explicit informed consent at the point of engagement, and where relevant, Standard Contractual Clauses included in our service agreement. You may withdraw consent at any time, although this may prevent us from continuing your application.
How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only as long as needed for the purposes we have explained, or as required by law.
Active application data, during service delivery: kept for the duration of the service plus twelve months after completion, to support follow-up and any post-approval queries.
Completed application records: kept for seven years from completion, in line with Thai accounting and tax record retention requirements.
Marketing data (if you opted in): kept until you withdraw consent.
Website inquiry data, where you contacted us but did not engage our services: kept for twenty-four months from your last interaction, then permanently deleted.
After these periods, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your data.
Your rights
Under Thai law and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the following rights over your personal data:
The right to access the personal data we hold about you.
The right to rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
The right to erasure of your data (the “right to be forgotten”), subject to our obligations to retain certain records under Thai tax and accounting law.
The right to restrict our processing of your data in certain circumstances.
The right to portability of data you provided to us.
The right to object to processing based on legitimate interest.
The right to withdraw consent where consent was the legal basis for processing.
The right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority — the Personal Data Protection Committee in Thailand, or the data protection authority of your country of residence in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions.
For California residents. In addition to the rights listed above, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the right to know whether we have sold or disclosed your personal information (Visa Venture does not sell personal information to third parties), the right to request deletion of your personal information subject to our retention obligations, the right to opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your CCPA rights. You may exercise these rights through the same contact channel listed below.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@visa-venture.co.th. We respond to requests within 30 days. If your request is complex or requires extended review, we may need additional time and will notify you.
Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. A full description of the cookies we use is available in our Cookie Policy. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through the cookie banner that appears on your first visit, or by clicking the cookie preferences link in the footer.
Children’s data
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of sixteen for any purpose other than as part of a parent’s or guardian’s dependent visa application. Where dependents under sixteen are included in an application, their personal data is provided by the parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for confirming consent on the child’s behalf.
LTR dependent applications can include children under twenty. Dependents over sixteen who are old enough to provide their own consent are asked to do so directly.
How we protect your data
We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted storage of sensitive documents, access controls limiting who within Visa Venture can see your data, secure transmission channels, and contractual safeguards with our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to maintain protection appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle.
If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to affect your rights, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authority within the timelines required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, our service providers, or the law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to current clients by email.
