Each fee covers the full eligibility review, embassy or BOI selection, document preparation in the format the authority expects, submission, follow-up on any document requests, and confirmation of approval. All fees exclude VAT and the Thai government fee — roughly 10,000 THB for DTV and 50,000 THB for LTR — which are quoted separately before you commit. Your service fee is refunded in full if the application is refused for a reason attributable to our preparation. Refunds are issued within 14 business days of the refusal notice. It depends on your nationality, where you are now, your document set and your timing — and the difference is real. Processing runs from about 10 days to several weeks, documentation requirements differ between posts, and some embassies will not accept applications from non-residents at all. Vientiane, Phnom Penh, Tokyo and Kuala Lumpur are common choices for nationality-specific reasons. Choosing the wrong one is a frequent reason applications stall or come back for resubmission. No. The DTV is treated as a tourist visa: it does not permit employment with Thai companies or Thai-based clients, and DTV holders cannot hold a Thai work permit. What it does allow is remote work for foreign employers, foreign clients, or your own business registered abroad — the income source must sit outside Thailand. If you need to work for a Thai employer, the DTV is the wrong route. Only the LTR Highly Skilled Professional covers employment with a Thai company, and only in BOI-targeted industries. Anything outside that needs a standard Thai work permit.

The BOI publishes a 20-business-day target once a complete application is filed. Realistically, plan for 6 to 12 weeks from first contact to visa in passport. The variable is almost always documentation — income proof, investment evidence and BOI-format documents for you and any dependants. LTR Wealthy Global Citizen applications take longest, because the qualifying Thailand investment must be made and documented before filing.
